Customs

On your visit to Tenerife you may bring the usual personal objects such as your own jewellery, video cameras, music equipment, sports equipment or camping articles, without paying custom taxes. However, products such as tobacco, perfume, wine and liquor are under a maximum quantity limit, on which taxes are to be paid.

In your luggage you may bring products that have no commercial purposes and that do not surpass the following quantities:

• 200 cigarettes or 100 cigars

• 50 cigarettes, cigars or 250 grams of smoking tobacco

• One litre of alcohol or derived beverages

• Two litres of wine or other fermented bubbly beverages

• Two litres of wine and fermented beverages

• 50 grams of perfume and a quarter litre of cologne

• 500 grams of coffee and 200 grams of extracts or coffee essences

• 100 grams of tea and 40 of extracts or tea essences

Those travellers under 17 years of age will not benefit from these privileges referring to tobacco and alcohol, and those under 15 will not benefit from the additional privileges referring to coffee.

All those passengers that leave Tenerife can take the following items with them:

• 200 cigarettes or 100 small cigars

• 50 tobacco or 250 grams of smoking tobacco

• One litre of alcohol or derived beverage

• Two litres of wine or other fermented bubbly beverages

• Two litres of wine and fermented beverages

• 50 grams of perfume and a quarter litre of cologne

• 500 grams of coffee and 200 grams of extracts or coffee essences

• 100 grams of tea and 40 of extracts or tea essences

In case the destination is the United Kingdom, you will need a special permit to be able to enter dogs, cats and other animals into the country. For importing plants there are also some limitations with determined species, and the same applies to cheese, milk, butter, etc.
